Sunset over Leuchers, April, 2014.  I came across this showing jumping stud in Leuchers, Fife close to the sea. I photographed as the sun was setting for the day. The rich light seem to pick out the hay. Copyrighted Image. Digital C Type Print.594 x 841 mm.

'Untitled' (North Sea Carnival) #03    Copyrighted Image 2014
This is the second large-format image from my North Sea Carnival series. A fog had moved in over the shore from the North Sea and a sunny March evening began to look eery and remote. The structure lay abandoned and alone a reminder perhaps of the loneliness we may feel in the evening. Thanks to Elliot Jensen from Queensland, Australia for assisting.

'Untitled' (Sailing By) Edinburgh, Scotland, April 2014. Copyrighted Image. This image is part of a series I am working on inspired by the BBC Radio 4 Program 'The Shipping Forecast”  I found a cassette tape from the BBC in my Freshers bag at the University of London in 1992 which led to my discovery of this broadcast at 00:48 every evening. It has a cult following of over 5 million listeners. I dressed the sitter up as an imaginary Radio Announcer.

gedjefferson:

Light Over West Sands, Fife, Scotland.

Following in the footsteps of centuries of Scottish landscape artists I have been exploring Fife with a large format camera before Scotland becomes independent again. The landscape changes so dramatically even within a minute and so as an artist I have had to step back and connect in a spiritual way with the land and the sky waiting for everything to come together in my minds eye.

As I stood on the beach I watched the RAF warplanes from the nearby airbase conducting war games in the sky. They they all landed for lunch and the clouds began to drift inland as if gestured by the sun. The sun then picked out the detail including the bunting I placed in the landscape which was made for my friend Amelia’s 19th birthday by her Devonshire Mum, Jane.

Berlin’s Hauptbahnhof (Central Train Station) is a passenger’s dream. A giant modern railway station/shopping mall which interacts and is easy to navigate. It is close to the German Reichstag and looms tall in the former East German sector of Berlin. Trains slip quietly in and out of the station with engineering precision.
Having spent years enduring the chaotic, eternally failing and vastly over priced British transport network, I can only say I was immensely impressed. At this station it is always a pleasure to arrive. Image composed using a Holga CFN toy camera. Copyrighted Image,2013.

When I started this new series “Untitled’ (Butcher Boys) I was using Polaroid Instant Black & White film to check everything was okay before I began using colour 4x5 film. This was my last sheet of instant film. It was sold to be by the Photography Department at ECA. It will be on display under lock and key at ECA in 2014. It is not for sale.
